Speakeasy II

Another awesome show put on by the gals of the Handmade Brigade! The Speakeasy II was at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa and I was among some talented people! I met a lot of cool people and I also connected with a gal who asked me to sell at another craft show.

I was trying out a new set up with the peg boards and twinkle lights. I wanted to showcase my cards more! I'm thinking about painting some frames on it. What do you think?

It was definitely a fun night. They gave out these cool canvas shopping bags with cool freebies in them. A shopper was kind enough to let me snap a picture of her. I also got a picture of the first purchase of the night.

Everyone was super cool and best of all it was in a bar! I think the guy next to me was a little buzzed off the beers he was drinking :)

Delightful Trinkets

I can't believe I've never blogged about Delightful Trinkets. She's not only my BFF, but the maker of all things lovely and delightful. Corny, I know, but it's totally true. Ivy would probably use those words herself. Ha! She's the main reason why I started participating in these craft fairs and I'm glad she convinced me because they're super fun and most of all inspiring.

Ivy creates wonderful vintage inspired jewelry. It's no wonder she does so well at these craft fairs, because who can't resist a vintage button on your finger? She has an eye for putting certain colors together and picking patterns that are timeless.

Be sure to check out her etsy shop because most of her rings are one of a kind and her blog which she updates here and there :). Ivy will also be at Handmade Brigade this Saturday at the Tall Mouse in Laguna Niguel.

Handmade Brigade - Tiny Whales

I'm always drawn to the kiddie section. I stopped by the Tiny Whales shop and everything was super adorable. I thought to myself, I could by that one for Michaela, that one for Aden, Rylee would look so cute in this one, Syd would love that t-shirt and Cam Cam just looks adorable in anything. This is the place to go when you want something cool for your cool kid.

They'll also be at the next Handmade Brigade this Saturday at the Tall Mouse in Laguna Niguel!

Handmade Brigade - Little Chirpy Bird

I met Cindy from Little Chirpy Bird at Patchwork. She was one of the passer-bys and I was so glad to see her sell her awesome barrettes at the Handmade Brigade. I bought 2 of them for Michaela!

She's going to be at the next Handmade Brigade this Saturday at the Tall Mouse in Laguna Niguel. Visit theochandmadebrigade.com for more info.

Handmade Brigade - Palm Puppy

Another talented crafter that I met at Handmade Brigade was Nhi Huynh of Palm Puppy. These totally caught my eye because not only are they super duper adorable, but Michaela seems to think she's a little puppy these days and I couldn't resist to see what these were all about.

Palm puppies are little plush puppy dolls that fit in the palm of your hand. They're so teeny and it's a great collection to have. I couldn't decide which one was the cutest so I'll let Michaela decide.

Check out the website and take one home.

Handmade Brigade - Studio Ben Ben & Erinzam

Okay, this is a little late, but I'm gonna share anyways. I've been behind with the posts because of all the projects up my sleeves, but I have a little moment to catch up since the little one's off in dreamland.

I set up shop at the Handmade Brigade on June 6th. This time I had my own space and I wasn't crowding Ivy! I was a little skeptical at first because she usually creates traffic for me, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The weather was on and off and for the most part windy. All in all it was a great day and I met some wonderful people along the way.

I was in super starstuck mode because I met one of my fave illustrators. His name is Ben Schlitter. I totally recognized his work when I saw his artwork.

I don't know how long ago it was, but I was perusing the internet and I stumbled upon his website and he has the most awesome icons and they're availabe on his website for FREE. So of course I snagged all of them and they've been on my desktop since who knows when. My favorite ones are the gift boxes.

Then to top it off, his wife is amazing! Her name is Erin and she shared the space with him because she is an artist as well. I totally loved her handmade booklets, but quickly recognized her "geekbooks." I saw them previously on a random blog and I immediately became a fan. Superly talented couple and don't forget to visit her website where you can go to her etsy site and check out her amazing artwork as well. I have my eye on a few already.

Stay tuned for more vendors...
